Dannis ----- Denny
Special names. Some parents, having senior moments, call the whole family role when trying to call one of their children by name.
Little Mama used to say, "Hitty . . . Sister . . . . Peggy . . . . LIBBY! When trying to address our Mom.
Daddy used a different method. The transmorgafication of names.
If he was talking to you . . . it didn't matter if you were Dannis . . . or Denny. You knew he meant YOU.
It means:
1. Either one of you will do . . . you are both equally capable of doing what I want you to do.
2. I never can think of one of you . . . without thinking of the other.
3. You are both my sons . . . I love you both the same . . . and you know what I mean!
When Prince Albert died. Preceeding his beloved Queen Victoria in death . . . someone heard Her Majesty sobbing, "There is no one left in the entire world to call me Victoria!"
No one will ever call me Dannis again . . . . . . or Denny.
Except, maybe, when I cross the gates . . . and Daddy meets me there . . . and asks, "Where's Dannis?"
He's on his way, Daddy . . . . not far behind.
